Two Trains, One Track
One loop on my layout is 175 feet long and is set up to run two trains. The trains are kept separated by small speed changes and I wanted the speed changes to be small enough that they would not be obvious.

The Earliest Large Scale Trains - Shumay Trains
Arthur Shumway, a Civil Engineer who worked for the city of Vancouver, Washington, began building large scale trains in 1921. The Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, located on the Long Beach peninsula in Washington, is home to this unique collection of model trains.

A Visit to Swiss Miniatur
If the map of Switzerland were placed over that of the US, the little town of Melide would be at Corpus Christi, Texas. There you will find a jaw-dropping recreation of the most famous structures and landmarks in Switzerland, built on a scale of 25:1. Although it was started in 1959, before the development of garden railroads, it is now thoroughly populated with correct brass, LGB and Marklin rolling stock.

How Do You Get Ready for Spring?
A few weeks ago we had a Tuesday Topic about getting ready for spring. Spring has sprung. What do you need to do to get ready? I enjoyed reading the posts and thought I would share with you my experience that we have getting the BIGD LINE ready to run. It is still a little cold to run trains, but our motto on the BIGD LINE is "If the wind chill will not freeze your skin in under 30 seconds, we can run trains."

Bill Builds a Bigger Better Bobber Barn
