Large Scale Online (LSOL.com) was active from 1995 to 2013. During that time, it was the largest website dedicated to Large Scale Garden Trains. The site was a pioneer in many ways:
- First Large Scale Web Site for Garden Trains
- First with email news alerts
- First with live reporting from train shows
- First with Blogs and Photo Galleries
- First online library of articles
- First with videos of products and how-to's
- And so much more.....
LSOL.com created emails and articles starting in 1995. In 2002 they developed a publishing system that would allow easy to find articles and images, as well as categories for different kinds of articles. Articles before that date were merged into the database. That is what you will find on this data DVD.
We have carefully transferred and preserved the database online, ensuring that text, images, and links remain as intact as possible. Some external links from LSOL.com may no longer be active. We conducted extensive automated and manual checks to address these issues. Where links have expired, we have noted them but kept the articles for historical reference. Many expired links include a backup PDF. (Good thinking, Peter!) Additionally, older videos are included on the site, while newer videos link to YouTube. We have also placed three "Easter Egg" links on the article pages that lead to special content within the site.

How does the LSOL.com Archival Website work?
If you previously used the LSOL.com Library online, you'll find the experience familiar. The site operates similarly, with your web browser reading the archived files and retrieving additional content from the Internet when needed. To take full advantage of the site, we recommend having an active Internet connection. This will allow you to access external video content and receive any future updates we may provide.

There are thousands of pieces of information on the LSOL.com Archival Website. To help you navigate this extensive collection, we have organized content into categories, which you can find on the left-hand side of the site. Clicking on a category will display all articles assigned to it. Some articles appear in multiple categories to make them easier to find. Some menus will expand to reveal more specific topics, allowing you to drill down into areas of interest.
Once you have selected a category, you will see a list of articles sorted from newest to oldest. Just because an article is dated does not mean the information is outdated—many articles on topics like bridge building remain relevant today.
It took us over 15 years to compile this information. Don't expect to read it all in one day!

Anything else I should know?
This database was created in the early days of the Internet. You may notice that older articles contain smaller images, or require you to click on them for a larger view. Back then, Internet speeds were significantly slower, which influenced the way content was formatted. As a result, older articles may look slightly different compared to newer ones.
Some links on this site may not work because the information is historical. Over time, web links change or become inactive. If a link no longer works, the original page or video may have been moved or removed.
