Dirty Ballast, an oxymoron? It's actually wet ballast. Water trapped in the ballast leading to frost heave, tie deterioration, and strength deterioration.

Self-propelled, twin 30-inch wide digging buckets, digging as deep as 16 inches and discharging up to 29 feet from the centerline of track. Seeing is believing.
