OverviewSometime you may want to take all of your rolling stock and make up one long, long train. But is a super long train prototypical? One could argue that Australia has the longest trains (4.5 miles), but they also have the longest straight track in the world.

What about every day, up and down grades, curves and traffic. I'm going to go with Union Pacific train 7454. It ran last week with a total length of 18,061 feet. You math buffs can let us know what that would equal in the various scales of G.

So, open all of your boxes and put 'em on the track.

1/32 conversion
At 1/32 conversion the 1,8061 train would be slightly over 56 feet in length on the #1 track.

Nine engines (3+2+2+2) WOW!

Wonder what the maximum grade was that they had to climb?

Grade
Don't know about the grade there as it goes through Palm Springs. Did find this railfan link with some still photos. http://www.westcoastrailforums.com/view_topic.php?id=514&forum_id=92&highlight=fingal
