Overview
We are always excited when someone gets to run their trains for the first time. But what about the last time you get to run your trains. This person downsized from a house to a condominium and sold everything except one engine.
He filmed and shares the last time he ran his trains before dismantling.
It Makes Me a Bit Sad
It's sad for me to see this nice railroad come to an end, but since everything was sold it might bring a lot of enjoyment to a new owner. I hope so.

Comments
Very sad, but been there and done that... My layout ceased to exist in 2005, and I can't say I'm happy when I see Christmas Eve come. Thank God we have memories ( and pictures or videos, like the above) BUT, as our parents use to say "all good things come to an end, sooner or later". And for one reason or another, we have to find new forms of joy. Mine has been collecting tired buildings, fixing them back up and then finding new homes for them... Elaine

Fairwell Video
I had to downsize in 2001, a sudden divorce prompted an immediate removal of a 1500 sq ft indoor railroad. There was not time for a last run video as I boxed everything in the limited time I was allowed access to do so.

Mournful Whistle Sound
Some how the first engine's whistle had a very sad and mournful sound in this video. Almost haunting considering it was the last run.

last run
I dont know how I might react or respond to the thought of taking the train for its last run but I agree that the last whistle sure was a heartbreaker . I hope that whoever bought the equipment has an appreciation and love for trains and the hobby. I know I do... but we all also know, that there does come a time for the " last run ".

The Last Garden Train
This was a fantastic layout. One that I'm sure brought many happy hour to the owner. It's sad to see the last train, but all goog things must come to an end. It's part of the cycle. All that's left to do now is to keep alive the memories of his once beloved trains, and be thankful that he once had the pleasure of enjoying them.
