Move over, here comes a Big Boy

This video turned into more of thrill ride than I thought it would be. A rock and a hard place at its best.

OverviewOne suggestion I would have for people designing their Garden Railroad is, "Design for the biggest piece of equipment you will run and then make it bigger". This idea is clearly demonstrated in this video. You will wince, cringe and say wow more than once.

I couldn't tell if there was any collateral damage, but if you look at the left number board, it might give you some indication.

I learned about clearance not from this video, but from my 2-8-0 when it hit that rock that "wasn't anywhere near" the track

Bent Big Boy
"Right-of-way" is good, "Wrong-of-way" not so good.

Big Boy
That was a close call. I know that layout, in Scotsdale AZ. I am surprised that even the biggest locomotive possible can come ever so close to the rocks. There have been bbs there before.
