Overview
My gas line trimmer died yesterday. I thought about making it into a super powered track cleaner car. Then I saw this video and decided I didn't need that much power.
Power Broom
If I had an outdoor layout, I would want one of these. It seems to be able to clear the track of leaves, acorns, etc., and spread ballast.

Neat, and very ingenious use of a full-sized item for your trains... Great forsight... And it looks like fun to watch too...

track cleaner
what an invention-- would be nice to see a " how its constructed" video... Always nice that people share things that they came up with but if its just a " here's what I have" video, then of no real value to those of us hobbyists . Can this be presented some time ?? Either on here OR as a magazine article in GRR. How many of us have had tools that " quit" so we just dumped them not realizing that they MIGHT be salvageable in this manner ... But kudos to the inventor ... ( PS - DONT let LGB see this or it would have a HEFTY PRICE TAG ON IT !!! )

Overboard
Looks like it makes more of a mess than it clears!

Clear the rails
It's a good idea, but the Motor is too strong and the number of revolutions is too high. Moreover it needs a covered hood which leads and deposits the debries next to the track and not around the tracks.
Otherwise the layout become a waste disposal site.
Please excuse me for my bad english.

Tack Blower
There is a guy in Vancouver, WA that makes these, complete units with car included or just the broom, motor and battery pack. He sels this stuff on E-bay.

Track Sweeper Kit
I haven't gotten around to buying one yet, but I beleive this may be the same thing the Chicago Botanical garden uses. With all the twig and leaves, this and a decent track cleaner are all you need. Cost somewhere around $25-30 depending on todays cost. This link will take you to the info
