Overview | Metra (Chicago) plans to designate the second car from the locomotive and from the train's end as quiet cars on trains with six or more cars during rush hour on all lines except for Metra Electric. On that line, only the second car from the engine will be a quiet car.
Quiet car rules require riders to mute electronic devices and refrain from talking on cell phones.
