Overview | The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Co. (MBCR) recently announced plans to expand the "Quiet Car" pilot program to all commuter-rail lines on a permanent basis.
Also, MBTA and MBCR have launched an updated version of Rail Radio, which provides real-time information about train status on car radios. |

Quiet car |
I have gone on Amtrak Acela from Newark NJ to Washington DC and got the quiet car. The quiet car feature is really nice. (but it looks like there was more fun going on in the first class car.) The signs said it was allowed to converse in a low volume voice or wisper but some felt that "quiet" meant quiet. I guess they didn't read either. |
