OverviewPatton, PA - About 100,000 pounds of train track - worth more than $45,000 - have been stolen from the side of a short-line railroad, and state police need the public's help cracking the case.

Troopers said late Thursday that 72 30-foot sections of rail were stolen near the Thomas Mills Road railroad crossing in Elder Township. That's sufficient to lay about one-fifth of a mile of track.
