By Peter De Keles
Author  Bio
A sizable chunk of his rural Saline County property has been taken over by the North Ohio Central Railroad, but don't expect to inquire about freight rates unless the shipment is really tiny.

Overview

Richard Nelson hasn't been working on the railroad all the livelong day; his yard only looks as if he has.

He staked out an area 32 feet by 48 feet in March 2006, and 79 tons of dirt, 475 decorative stones, 190 hand-packed tires, 12 tons of rock and a year and a half later, he had his garden railroad. He lives on North Ohio Street, hence the railroad name.
