Overview

A giant oak tree became uprooted in the saturated soil as the storm wound down Sunday morning, according to Tom Brown of Seaside Avenue.

"It was in slow motion," said Brown who was standing in his sunroom when the oak's roots became loosened from the earth. "The tree just went slowly down."

I'm very surprised these people did NOT take all of their village and buildings inside when they saw this hurricane was coming. Most of NJ was heavily evacuated, so everyone was aware of what was coming. They were very lucky they themselves were not injured... Elaine

all I can say is WOW !!!!! While we did not experience this kind of damage, I am sure that those that might have saw a lot of work get "undone" but knowing us " train people"- recovery will be quick. I am only glad that lives were not lost- train can be replaced .
