Gallery shows art of the railroad

Wayne County Council for the Arts will open a new exhibit Friday. A display of model trains by Robert Thon and "Trains" drawings by Sam Ferrara.

Overview

Newark, NY - Thon began making large-scale model trains in 1977 through his business called Roberts' Lines. He has model trains in the Medina Railroad Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

Ferrara began painting images of trains upon entering kindergarten. Through his high school and college years he had many opportunities to watch trains and photograph them.

The exhibits will be on view through July 12.

An opening reception with the artists will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wayne Arts, 108 W. Miller St.
