Steam train to ride the rails through Henry County

Nickel Plate Road 765, a historic steam locomotive out of Fort Wayne, Ind., will pull a special train made up of vintage passenger cars through Geneseo, Atkinson and Annawan on July 22.

Overview | The excursion is part of Train Festival 2011, to be held in Rock Island's Schwiebert Riverfront Park July 21-24. The festival will feature model trains, railroad-related vendors, ride-on garden sized trains, authentic steam locomotives, vintage diesel locomotives and passenger cars, and Amtrak equipment.
The most popular features of the event are day-long and two-hour train rides, including a steam-pulled excursion to Bureau Junction on July 22. |
