Rosenberg Railroad Museum to Host Rail Fest 2012

Rosenberg Railroad Museum is proud to announce the upcoming Rail Fest 2012 in Historic Downtown Rosenberg. The "24 Hours of Rosenberg Rail" will begin Friday, April 20th at 4:00 pm at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum.

Friday evening will start the event with a Welcome from Mayor Vincent M. Morales, Jr, Mayor of Rosenberg. Train Enthusiasts will check in to begin the "24 Hours of Rosenberg Rail" experience. Courses will be offered in train safety by Rosenberg Police Department that evening.

BR Vino will host a Fundraiser event benefitting the Rosenberg Railroad Museum from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at their location at 1909 Ave G in Historic Downtown Rosenberg. A $5.00 donation will be made to the Rosenberg Railroad Museum for every bottle of wine sold that evening. The public is invited to participate.

The Rail Fest 2012 event will happen Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Come back to the 1930's as we relive the good old days with old fashioned games for the entire family to enjoy along with old time candy and music. Operation Lifesaver classes will be taught along with a class on how to photograph trains. Bring your cameras and note pads to record the passing of over 60 trains a day at RRM.

Rail Fest 2012 is a celebration of the Railroad in Fort Bend County. The events will showcase the Heritage of Rosenberg and the life on the railroad. The Theme will be 1930-1940. There will be delicious Bar-B-Que for sale, Historic Hobo re-enactors, Brazos River Pickers will perform, and there will be a trackless train for riders of all ages.

Kids will be able to make a "Hobo Bindle" to take home along with a Scavenger Hunt with prizes. The Downtown Merchants of Rosenberg invites you to visit the special shops located in Historic Downtown. The cost is $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for children.
