I think I will try this next year. If you're struggling with a hot and dry area that needs a big dose of color, Rocky Mountain zinnia can come to the rescue.

Overview

The 1-inch-diameter flowers feature bright, golden-yellow petals and dark orange anthers. The foliage is fine, with needle-like leaves in a cool blue-green hue.

Rocky Mountain zinnia demands well-drained soil - either sand or amended clay - and a sunny site.

Rocky Mountain zinnia
Looks like a winner in my location. 2000 foot elevation facing south. But I can't find a source.

Peter,

How far south can this plant survive, looks great and would love to know IF it's available in FL?
