Overview | Rock Island, IL - "We
need volunteers to conduct... to really be the train engineers and operate the
trains," says Ami Jenkins, Executive Director, QCBC.
Every Sunday
the train is operated for folks to come and look at. "Most
of the trains you see are under the Christmas tree, but there are individuals
that go beyond that and with the larger scales they move their trains outdoors,"
says Dave Searl, Head Gardener.

What's wrong with the train people in that area? We would die for an opportunity to run G-scale trains on a well maintained area like that... What could be better than to be in a Botantical Garden that appears to be maintained for you, just volunteer to hold the remote and run the trains?? |

Could not agree MORE... I also notice that when our club has some special activity, there are a lot who NEVER seem to show up or do anything. I have seen the smae people bringing stuff to run over and over - the same people putting in the hours to set up and man a layout for the pleasure of people to SEE this hobby in action --- and yet the non - actives think that paying their dues is all that is needed... I wish there were a way to " require " at least attendence at ONE activity a year or you are not needed in the club.... |
