Overview

The award was won for the club's collaboration with Garden Railroaders of Northern New Jersey volunteers to transform a once weedy site into a two-level, two-track, solar-powered garden railroad open to the public in borough-owned, club-run Davies Arboretum in Demarest, NJ.

Funded by the Lamp Family of Norwood, the project honors the memory of Edward Lamp, who was an active member of both organizations. The project includes a solar power - battery backup electrical system, a two-level, two-track, two-tunnel setup for running two G-scale trains at the same time.
