Author  Bio
I received my first train for Christmas 1946.  It was a Lionel, of course, and I still have it in spite of my efforts to destroy it in my youth.

In my teen years I was interested in the greater scale realism or HO scale, but school, cars and girls intervened for a few years and I didn't really get into it until after I was married. Jeanne and I were married in 1966 and settled in a house, I purchased an HO set and worked on a layout for a couple of years until I was evicted from my train room to make room for a baby. Finally in 1974 I started in earnest to build an N scale layout.

After a couple of years and a move, I went back to HO and pursued it with diligence until I discovered Large Scale in a hobby shop in the late 1980s. I built a garden railroad in 1993 and expanded it in 2002. The Buckeye Falls RR is a modest railroad, with several hundred feet of track covering portions of the back yard.

I spent 20 years in the US Air Force and another 14 years working in the aerospace industry before I retired for good several years ago. I can now devote all my time to trains in one way or another, but it seems as if I never have time to do everything I want to do as I still model in HO as well as large scale.
