My name is Ted Yarbrough. I first developed an interest in trains when I was about 5 and lived about a mile from a railroad track and a family friend would walk me down to the track and we would watch trains pass by from a wooden bridge over the tracks.

My name is Ted Yarbrough and I was born in 1955, so that makes me about 51 years old. I first developed an interest in trains when I was about 5 and lived about a mile from a railroad track and a family friend would walk me down to the track and we would watch trains pass by from a wooden bridge over the tracks. I got my first train set, an American Flyer, for Christmas at the age of 8. I have loved trains ever since!

My wife and I are teachers and we spend our summers traveling around the country and riding as many tourist lines as possible. The Durango and Silverton is my favorite ride in the continental US. I do volunteer work at the Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga. Therefore, I guess you could say that I model in 1:1 scale as well as garden trains.

After converting from HO scale in 1989, I ventured into large scale. I built my first outdoor railway in 1992. I have attended many National Garden Railway Conventions and a couple of East Coast Large Scale Train Shows. I currently serve as the newsletter editor for the Georgia Garden Railway Society. My web site is http://home.alltel.net/traingarden/garden_railway_of.htm
