My interest in Model Railroading did not start until I retired. After visiting a botanically gardens in Indianapolis Indiana, a small layout in the gardens appealed to my curiosity to find out more about the hobby. After researching the subject, I discovered The Garden Railroad magazine and I was hooked. My background as an Industrial Engineer for General Motors fit the hobby.

I purchased some track and locomotives and cars and started my Grand Teton Garden Railroad in 2007. After 7 years the layout has matured to 300 ft of track and is controlled by DCC and automated with the DCC Bitswitch System. The layout consist of a water fall, working mountain stream, mountains that are scaled versions of the Grand Teton Mountains near Jenny Lake Wyoming, bridges and a storage shed designed after a railroad station, scratched built working signal system and the Magnetically steered Car.

Ron, Lives with his wife Annete in Noblesville Indiana. He retired in 1992 from General Motors in Anderson Indiana in 1992; other hobbies are modular railroading, remote controlled airplanes, wood working, garden and flying.
