Author  Bio I grew up watching trains and later riding in the locomotive when a train was in town.

Born in the railroad town of Water Valley, MS., I grew up watching trains and later riding in the locomotive when a train was in town. Later after college I worked for a couple of railroads before being furloughed.

I live now in Cleveland, MS. with my wife Bettye and youngest daughter Sara Ellen.

My oldest daughter Maribeth and her husband Dave are close by. Like a lot of people in this hobby, my dad bought me an American Flyer when I was small and hooked me on model trains. I modeled N scale trains until college.

I started my Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad in 2001.
