I have lived in Friday Harbor, WA. for about eight months now. I moved up from So. Cal. to my place in the woods. Finally! I have an area that NEEDS a garden railroad. This is my first attempt at 'G' scale. What a difference from 'N' scale!!!
You say you would like some sort of bio on me. I guess that means things like age and stuff. I am 60 years old, married, four kids and a 'six pack' of grand kids. I retired from the electric utility business and spend most of my time boating, fishing and playing 'trains'.... any trains, any size!
one more trick |
I have used this roadbed technique for a few yeats, maybe seven. I have one more trick that seems to help stabilize the halves. The wiring used for drop ceilings can be bent into a j shape, and the straight ends pushed through into the dirt. My length has been about ten inches. The j's are placed before filling with roadbed material. They prevent the halves from rolling, and un-leveling the track. Watcha think? |
