I have been involved with trains since I was 4 years old and some would say even before that. I started with Lionel and O scale. By the age of 7 I had moved on to HO and stuck with that for 20+ years and through 7+ layouts. During that time I also tried N scale and built a coffee table layout. Soon after the N scale adventure I got interested in G gauge and still have a layout outside to prove it.

A few years ago I started losing interest in HO, N and G and started to gain an interest in Sn3, On30, Nn3 and Live Steam.

The purchase of my first Sn3 equipment led to the HO RR being torn out as I could see I would not have the interest to finish it. The Sn3 layout is waiting for the "Perfect Basement" to get started, so while I was waiting I decided to try On30 and now have a 42" x 10' On30 layout. We also started an On30 modular group at the same time.

While the On30 is fun, it takes up a lot of space to do what you want. So, soon after I found out about Nn3 and decided to use up some of that N scale stuff I had laying around. This has led to work on a small 17.5" x 30" Nn3 layout and a corner module for Nn3 get togethers.

During the last 5+ years I have also had a growing interest in Live Steam railroads of 7 1/2" gauge.

Last year I finally did something about it and built a gondola. Soon after I bought an engine, cars and track.

Also, while working in almost every scale under the sun I have been involved with the NMRA for the last 10 years. As the Piedmont division Superintendent for a few years and now as Vice-President of the Southeast Region. I am President of the Denver South Park & Pacific Historical Society and I also moderate 10+ email groups. I like to get involved and help out where I can and this led me to the Chattanooga Society of Model Engineers where I have been a member now for a little over a year. This has given me a chance to learn details about building a large Live Steam RR as I someday hope to do.

As we all have to make money to pay the bills I fugured why not keep that railroad related also, so I am an engineer for CSX in southeast Tennessee and Georgia.
