Author  Bio
A life long model railroader, Nick enjoys the hobby from a range of perspectives.

A life long model railroader, Nick enjoys the hobby from a range of perspectives. His involvement in O Gauge trains spans more decades than he cares to reveal, a number of layouts, a large collection, and a three year consulting relationship with O Gauge Railroading magazine. Nick has been a TCA member for many years. He discovered Large Scale in 1996 and hasn't looked back.

Nick is a member of the Big-Trains list, where he launched G-Day, an annual, international celebration of the hobby. He is a member of the Northern New Jersey Garden Railroaders, and is a past president of the Bergen-Rockland Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.

The New York Central runs in Nick's blood. His maternal grandfather, Will Collins was an Engineer on the NYC's West Shore Division, piloting 4-4-2s and 4-6-2s from Weehawken, NJ to Newburg, NY. His paternal grandfather worked in the Weehawken car shops and his father worked a short time in the Weehawken yards. Keeping the tradition alive, Nick worked for the NYC on a track gang, during the summer preceding the merger into Penn-Central.

Nick lives within "whistle" distance of the old West Shore Division of the NYC, now CSX's Riverline.
