Author  Bio But Portland was always home to me, and I'm back here now.

Some random biographical facts: I was born in San Franciso, went to Reed College and did a double major. After a period spent as a Reed bum, part-time programmer, and this and that, I moved back to California in the hope of finding work that paid more than minimum wage. But Portland was always home to me, and I'm back here now.

For the past several years I've worked as a computer geek-of-all-trades, mostly at Macintosh-oriented companies. I've done software QA, technical support, custom programming, and technical writing; these days I'm mostly into the joys of on-screen help and info presentation, on the Web and elsewhere.
