I started model railroading at the age of 6 years old and it has been an interesting and educational experience for me. I had my first trains set in 1950(American Flyer) a company in my home town. Mom and Dad bought a set at Christmas time for me and my 4 brothers. My brothers lost interest and I stayed with it. Years later I did some HO but after modeling S scale I lost my interest in HO. I sold my American Flyer collection in 1974 and kept only the set Mom and Dad bought. As Time marched on I got the bug for trains again.

In 1987 My wife and I stopped at the local Hobby Shop and as soon as I walked in I knew my wife was in trouble. Both her and I saw the large scale trains and I purchased the Aristo Rogers engine with 2 passenger cars. The rest is history. Over the years I have enjoyed trains but my favorite part of the hobby is scratch building and kit bashing. In 1997 I attended the LGB Convention in Fort Lauderdale FL. I entered my logging Mill and my Blacksmith car in the modeling contest. The Blacksmith car won first place in rolling stock and the logging mill won best in show and the Al Lentz Award. I am very proud of that achievement.

Our garden railroad is 3 simple loops with 350 ft of track with trestles and bridges. Stoney Creek RR is in the construction phase. I plan on having a logging RR with scratch built rolling stock and buildings.

I have been on LSOL since around 1996 and that is when I really got into the scratch building end of the hobby. I have met a lot of wonderful people and gained a wealth of information on LSOL.

I met Dave Snow on LSOL in 1997,at the time I was living in Florida. In 1998 I relocated back to my home town in CT. I located Dave and he and I formed the Central Connecticut G Gauge Module Club. I enjoy the module club and do local train shows. We also do the ECLSTS and Greenberg show.

I am 59 years young and I have enjoyed this hobby and I would like to see the younger generation get more involved in it.
