Bob DeForge has been involved with Large Scale Trains and Garden Railroads since 1996 when he and his wife Beth became members of the Vermont Garden Railway Society (VGRS) following attendance at a flower show. Bob and Beth own and operate the Lotta Rock Garden Railroad in Brookfield, Vermont, which was created to replace a temporary garden railroad which had been built for their 25th Wedding Anniversary.

Since then many a rock has been carried and set in place and several bridges and buildings scratch built and installed in a layout some 65' by 25' with approximately 650 feet of track. Bob has scratch built most structures on the layout and always has a keen eye out for the bargain object that can be added to the Lotta Rock. An S Scale (American Flyer) owner and operator dating back to the early 50s, he tried HO Scale for a while when his boys were very young, but then discovered G Scale and never turned back.

Bob is also K1HKI, an Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator. Before retirement, Bob was a psychologist and an administrator with a community mental health organization but he finds retirement is a lot more fun - more time to play with trains!
