Retired AF Pilot who never modeled airplanes, only railroads. I built a very large HO layout in my garage. and it was included in the visits from the Houston NMRA convention. I am now 85 and my eyesight
would not allow me to continue with the small HO engines and cars so I switched to something I could see...Large Scale trains! I am married (60 years!). I have a son and a daughter and two grandchildren. I have flown off of or installed air traffic navigations aids and Air Traffic control facilities on all continents except Australia and Antarctica. Before I was in the Air Force, I stared out as a grunt in Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battery in WW 2. I made corporal and then was sleeted for Officers school and received my commission as a 2nd Lt. in the Coast Artillery Corps. I transferred to the (then) Air Corps and received my pilots wings. I attained the rank of Major at retirement. I have an around the ceiling railroad of 22 x 16 feet. It has a storage spur going through a tunnel into the adjacent laundry room. There is a passing track and one spur on the mainline. I use Aristocraft Train Engineer for control. Top of Page
