The Amherst Railway Society held its annual Big Model RR Show on February 2 & 3, 2002 at Springfield, MA. This is the largest all-scale model railroad show in New England and attendance usually runs in the 12,000 to 15,000 range each year. The exhibits fill three buildings, and going to this show is a test not only of your endurance but also your tolerance for your fellow man.

The Large-Scale presence is always relatively small, but there are always several vendors and manufacturers present. This year, Accucraft, USA Trains and Aristo-Craft were represented.
Aristo-Craft previewed many of its newest products at its booth including the new Mikado steam locomotive with Vandebilt tender, some of the new High-Hood SD-45s, as well as the new 53' Evans boxcar and the new 100 ton hopper. Also previewed were the new #6 turnout, a couple of RDCs and the new country church building. All of these new pieces were very impressive.
