Another East Coast Large Scale Train Show (ECLSTS) came to an end on Saturday evening and it was not up to some of the past shows. Attendance seemed to be down on Saturday although several vendors said they did well on Friday.
From our arrival on Thursday, the show provided Large Scale train lovers with a good selection of vendors and modular railroads. This was an interesting show and was held in Memorial Hall at the York, Pennsylvania Fairgrounds.

On Thursday evening about 85 LSOL.com members joined us at Hoss's restaurant for our regular LSOL.com banquet. At the banquet we were treated to the usual question and answer session with Scott Polk from Aristo Craft and he provided some insight into the upcoming production schedule. Dan Hoag of Eaglewings Ironcrafters told us about his upcoming open house and some of the fund raising that they have been doing.
We also heard a few words from Jason of St. Aubins. We also introduced Matt from St. Aubins since he is the one that takes a lot of our orders. All of these guys donated one or two items for giving away in our drawing, as did Charles, Jr. from USA Trains.

We had our hat contest with only four entries, but they all were very unique.

The banquet was very well attended and everyone enjoyed saying Hello to old friends and meeting some new ones.

As the evening drew to a close, Jon introduced a new product that LSOL.com has designed and prototyped called the Egg Hauler. A pre-order form is available on the website. It will be a great addition to those of you who would like to have your Eggliners pulling something.

Friday morning dawned clear and cold with a temperature of about 24 and the wind blowing 20 MPH. That didn't stop the Large Scale train lovers from flocking to the hall and lining up to be the first to enter.

Upon entering the hall, visitors were greeted with the first of many modular railroads. The Susquehanna Garden Railway Society provided their floor layout just inside the entrance to the show. The ECLSTS cars and shirts were located just inside the entrance.

The booth for the donations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children was manned by many volunteers throughout the show and was very successful again this year in raising funds for the organization. Nick has been key in growing this important part of the show.

The clinic area was set up out in the entrance section of the Hall again this year. The clinics were well attended and the LSOL.com team recorded some of them and will produce short videos of them for later release to members. LSOL.com member, Dave Bodner, presented his electronics clinic to a full house. The arrangement this year provided plenty of seats and except for some minor technical difficulties at a couple of the clinics, they went very well.
As visitors entered the hall, the first thing to catch their eye was the LSOL.com booth manned by Jon, Jo Anne and a much taller Bryan.

All of the major train manufacturers were at the show except for MTH and HLW. AristoCraft, Accucraft, USA Trains, Bachmann had booths. LGB of America was also there.

There were many exciting new offerings displayed this year, but not as many as at last year's show. Check out some of the new things that I saw at the show.

The show ended on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. with only a few visitors present and the vendors tearing down their displays. Again this year the ECLSTS proved to be the largest show for Large Scale trains in the US. It was a great show and now we can begin to look forward to the convention and The Big Train Show out west. You can count on LSOL.com to be bringing you the latest news from the show. We hope to see you at those upcoming shows.

Noel's wrap up... |
Noel: Great pics ! Thanks for helping us relive the great time we had at the Spring 2011 ECLSTS. Now to finish unpacking the rest of the goodies I brought back to Vermont as we await the next 12" snow fall predicted for Friday. Bob |

New Structures |
I was pleased to see the new large structures on display. One looked like the Point of Rocks station in MD but I could not read the information. It looks like G-gauge is catching up with the table top railroads in the variety of accessories available for ones layout. |

Wonderful Photos! |
As usual, a great job on the photos Noel. The dinner and the show are a jump start for garden railroading in Vermont. All of us who attended are now ready for the disapperance of the last foot or two of snow on our railroads. |

Accucraft Booth |
Accurcraft was down the isle as you can straight into the hall. They had no sign and only had a few cars on display, but they were there. Noel |

Eaglecraft Ironworks Point of Rocks Station |
Rick, You were correct about the Point of Rocks station. It was a beautiful accurate model of the station. My daughter lives in the town so I see it quite often. It was pretty expensive and probably weighs a ton, but it was beautifully done. Noel |
