We have a new Wal-Mart super store in town! I made the ultimate sacrifice and have been there several times. The shelves were freshly stocked and the craft area had many items just for Large Scale railroads. Here is what I found.

Name: Traditions Part#: BD105VP Wal-Mart SKU: 004697597432 Size: 1/2" - 3/4" (1.3cm - 1.9cm) Quantity: 4 turtles Description: Kaolin Turtle Value Pack Price: $2.97 One thing that is always hard to find is animals for my Garden Railroad. They are usually too big, or too fake even for a Whimsical layout. These turtles are very cute and are just what I was looking for to place around the pond. The detail of these little critters is excellent. The smaller turtles are about nine to ten inches in 1:24, and the larger turtles are 18 inches, but taller. They appear to be rugged. I tried to scratch them with a finger nail, but they did not damage. I think that they will hold up outside. I would suggest, like all other figures, that you bring them in as the weather gets bad and they will last longer.

The two smaller ones in the pack measure out to be about five inches long in 1:24 and the two larger frogs are a whopping twelve inches plus. Just tell people the bigger ones are a Pyxicephalus edulis. The frogs are made out of the same rubber like material as the turtles.

Name: Traditions Part#: BQ875VP Wal-Mart SKU: 004697597452 Size: 1-1/2" (3.8cm) Quantity: 3 flower pots Description: Resin Flower Value Pack Price: $2.97 These are ideal flower pots for around the outside of a building or on the front porch of a house. At less than $1.00 each, they are an excellent value. They are made out of a solid plastic and are hand painted. The detail is very good. The pots have a diameter of about 18 inches in 1:24 and stand about 2.5 feet high.

They are made from real wood and with a coat of paint should hold up outside. They have a height of about four feet in 1:24 scale. The longer section is about eight feet and the smaller section is about five feet.

Nobody knows when the trains are arriving or departing! You might also use this outside your general store. List today's sale items. If going outside I would suggest painting the frame. Not sure how well the chalkboard surface will survive the elements. Place in a covered area, or remove and place inside your structure when not in use.

Can easily be cut with scissors. This product can be used outside.

This is real wood and should be painted, stained or treated if you are going to use it outside.

Name: Wilton Part#: 303-3703 Wal-Mart SKU: 007089603703 Size: 5.0"h Quantity: 4 pieces in each set Description: Grecian Pillars Price: $2.86 Not sure if I will ever get Jon to build me that Atlanta style southern mansion for our layout, but I just could not pass these up. These are the pillars used for wedding cakes. You may have some of these laying around in a drawer at home, or keep your eyes open at the next garage sale you visit. These might also make an interesting load for your next flatcar.
